Question by Michael M: Play again after a foul rule in snooker?
I’m a bit confused about this rule, any help appreciated.
Provided that it is not a ‘foul and a miss’ can the player who fouled be asked to play the shot again from either the original position (before the foul) or the current position? Or is it only the current position?

3 options
1. Accept the position and play
2. Ask opponent to play again from that position
3. Re-position balls and have opponent play again.
Third option is usually only in tournament play where there is a referee
