@neilmaxman Hi Neil i realise it was not toward mine (i dont mind if my stuff is criticised anyway etc as long as i can reply!). I just coudlnt get 100% what you were saying is damaging to a player… what is it that is damaging in your view? Thanks Nic

i dont get this… ARGHHHHHHHHHHH when i play a side its also move the cue ball away from where i want to hit…. means i missed always, but when i change my angle little then its ok…

@nicbarrow hello nic …………the clip in question is “snooker tips” and the reference i make was in no way towards your clip ……..i have seen you’re clip and i fully understand the point you make ………..in his clip he advocates hitting across the cueball ……….thus not getting the cue.body and stance in the correct position………i am also a fully qualified coach with the w.p.b.s.a the same as yourself and have been for the past 14 years

your cue MUST aim off line to contact the chalk if playign with side – your stance and bridge should always be in the same position relative to the cue whatever shot you play. whose vid are you talking about? and what are you saying is bad advice and what is it that will harm your game as that is not 100% clear?

So when playing with side should you aim to miss the pot slightly either side of the pocket as the white will throw off?

Also does side effect the object ball? a lot of people tell me that side spin does not effect the object ball but whenever I play with side I swear it also seems to throw the object ball even though the cue has made contact with it exactly where I want it to.

hi, i hope im not annoying you with all these comments neil. im practicing about 4 days a week in the snooker hall and im trying to find something else to do apart from practicing frames. when i play with side, i aim to wherever im aiming and then on the last stroke i play across the cue ball. i know u say playing across the cue ball is wrong but does the way i do it affect anything else?

    what do u mean mmcau?
    by playing accros is better
u mean ur cue shood be straight towards the aim when using side
    or parallel

i didnt get wat did u mean by this
caz in left hand of the cue ball u can hit the chalk using parallel not straight but u can hit the chalk, but how come u use the same thing in right hand side of the cue and u r not able to hit the cue ball,’
so which way u recommend for us or for me to play in our games with sides not to miss our aim? i really need this tnx

  16. Thanks for the video. I was really skeptical about the other guy’s advice when he said that playing across is the better way.

    Thanks for your help!
