Billiards is interesting and exciting game. Many people like to play billiards. And it is not without reason – because billiards develops thinking, reaction, ability to control their emotions and to use the weaknesses of the opponent.General term “billiards” combines several varieties of this sport. The first player to a predetermined set of points is declared the winner. In “One-Pocket,” players select a pocket and must shoot all of their balls into it to win points. Points are deducted for balls going into other pockets and, like “Straight Pool,” a predetermined goal is set.

The game of Snooker is a cue sport with its roots dating to the belated 19th century. It is ordinarily played on a light-green baize covered snooker table measuring 12 * 6 ft. The table has 6 pockets one in each corner as good as an one in the centre of each tenacious rooted cushion. The game is played with 21 balls – 15 reddish and 6 colours – yellow, dark-green, dark-brown, bluish, pinkish and black. The object of the game is to outscore your opponent by using the white ball and a snooker cue to pot all of the different balls.

The game of snooker rose in the tardy 19th century and came from a like game – billiards which was played by British officers based in India.

In the late 1920′s we the World Snooker Championship began and was organized by Joe Davis who was an identical popular player rearward then. Snooker then grew greatly in popularity throughout the 20th century. Today snooker has become an identical popular sport in this country and also has a massive following in China and far eastern countries.

The objective of the game is to score as many points as possible by potting balls in sequence. Each player take their turn at the table until they miss a changeable or foul. Each player has to first pot a red before potting a colour which must be nominated. After all the red balled are potted then the colours must be potted in sequence: yellowish, greenish, dark-brown, blue, pink and then black. If a player misses a ball or fouls it is then the oppose players turn.

A foul is if any of the following are met:

A twined is touched or moved with any part of the body or cue except the tip.

The cue ball does not did contact with the ball sought

The white ball is potted unintentially also referred to as “in off”

The cue ball goes off the table

An un-nominated colour is potted or hit.

There are many different types of snooker equipment needed to compete snooker:

A cue – snooker cues can vary a great deal. Almost all cues are ash made (however some are maple) All cues require a leather tip and all must be longer than 3ft.

A snooker table – 12ft long and 6ft wide. All competition standard snooker tables are this length however you can buy home tables which can be as small as 4ft hankered.

Snooker balls – In competition all games are played with 15 reds and 6 colours.

Chalk, a scoreboard and rests are also very useful but not essential items.

Snooker Equipment

The following equipment is required to play the game of snooker:

A snooker cue – cues vary greatly in design size and weight however most are made of ash and weigh between 17 and 23 ounces.

A snooker table – the standard tournament size is 12 ft by 6 ft, however tables come in many sizes some as small as 4 ft by 2 ft.

Snooker balls – standard tournament play requires 15 reds 6 colours and a cue ball.

A scoreboard – needed to keep track of the points.

Non essential items such as chalk, rests and extensions are also widely used.
