How to buy a good snooker cue?

Question by Jus’ Chillin’: How to buy a good snooker cue?
I’m an ammeter snooker player and I’m looking to buy a new cue, I would be willing to spend somewhere between £50-£100. Does it make a difference where the cue splits (1/2 3/4 full etc.) and what is your opinion on 2nd hand cues? Have you any cues you would recommend?

How to Beat the Winter Blues by Learning to Become good at Playing Pool or Pocket Billiards

Why do some folks dislike the winter time with such a hatred? Is it the snow, the cold, the slippery sidewalks, or is it something else they truly hate, and that is getting the winter blues because they always think there’s nothing to do. I have always loved the winter time, from when I was a kid to my present age, I don’t care much for the cost of the rising heat bill each year, but as far as the beauty of the winter scenery, I think it’s wonderful, truly a gift from God.

If you do find the winter blues creeping in your life this season, why not take up an activity to help beat it, one that requires only yourself to do, and is so fun that you will wonder why you haven’t thought about it before, and that activity is, becoming skilled at playing pool.

Playing pool or billiards as it’s sometimes called, is very fun, and it makes the time pass quickly, in fact when playing pool, you won’t have time to get the winter blues. Pool is so easy to learn that anyone can learn to play and become skilled at, over time. There are pool leagues in most towns, so when you become very good at it, you may wish to join one of the leagues where you can turn your fun activity into one that earns you awards and even cash prizes, and a little local fame.

There are lots of different games or variations of playing pool, in fact there are hundreds of variations, some of the most common ones are; eight-ball, one-pocket, and straight pool. When I was a young man and teenager, my parents bought a regulation size pool table with a slate top, I believe at the time they paid around 0 for it. My friends and cousins would always come by, and we all spent hundreds of hours over a few years, playing pool on that table. After awhile it seems like anything, people get older and get jobs or get married and move away, then finally my parents sold the pool table.

If you don’t have the money to buy a regulation size pool table to practice playing on at home, there probably are some places in your town or city that has then, in fact there might be pool halls, or sometimes there are bars that have them, as well as bowling alleys. Whenever you find the winter blues creeping towards you, because you don’t have anything to do, head towards the nearest pool table, and practice as often as you can, in time you may become good enough to win some local fame and maybe some money and awards, either way, you will still have an activity that helps beat the winter blues.

There is a website that describes numerous activities and other methods to help eliminate the Winter Blues, this website is called: Winter Activities – and it may be found at this url: http://www.winter-activities.com
