if i nominate black (or on black as the last object ball) and miss the black, is that 4points of 7points to my opponent?
Also say if a red is my object ball, if i pot the ball and foul in the same shot, say the white goes in or knocks a color in, do i still get the point from potting the red?

By my understanding of your question the answer is this:

Take the four sizes of triangles there are:
One with 3 balls
One with 6 balls
One with 10 balls
One with 15 balls

Then use counting formulas to solve

There are 2730 Combinations for the one with 3 balls (15 * 14 * 13)
There are 3603600 Combinations for the one with 6 balls (15 * 14 * 13 * 12 * 11 * 10)
There are 10897286400 combinations for the triangle with 10 balls (15 * 14 *…* 7 * 6)
and finally there are 1307674368000 combinations for the triangle with 15 balls (15 * 14 *…* 2 * 1)

Summing 1,318,575,260,730

The formula takes the number of possible balls to put in the first position times the number of possible balls in the second position (total – 1) and so on for each position.
